Visits to the Observatory

Visits to the "A. Riccó" Observatory site in Catania are typical winter time activities. Most of the visits requests come from Sicilian schools, but in many cases schools from outside Sicily and various organizations are hosted. After a general or specific argument presentation, in case of precise request, the visit to the solar facilities and the direct observation of the Sun is allowed.
During the more favorable spring and summer seasons visits for scools, cultural associations, clubs and citizens are arranged also to the "M.G. Fracastoro" mountain station. They consist in a guided tour to one of the telescopes and in the observation of some astronomical objects (typically the Moon and/or a planet). Furthermore, lectures on night sky (constellations, orientation, planetary and stars motion) are held often.
Here follows a complete list of the visits (the name of the astronomer that guided the visit is also reported).
