Conclusion

The activity of our unit in 2004 was mainly to complete the activities of the Cosmo.Lab project for the visualization of astrophysical data and to start the new "computational grid" activity. We completed the AstroMD tool and we published the final User Guide that was freely distributed. The activity we performed in these last years leads us to start new research activity as a "natural" development of the former activities in the HPC field. In particular we will form the first computational regional grid (TriGrid VL) with the "transfer of knowledge" from the research center to the industry involved in the project. This activity will be also carried out with the participation in a National Project for the development of an International center for grid computing (COMETA consortium), and for theoretical research in astrophysics. In 2005 we also start our activity in the VO-TECH project. We will develop VisIVO, a visualization tool for the Virtual Observatory, that will use the VO serveices and standard data, and the realization of a distributed VO standard data base for theoretical data, created for cosmological simulation and the simulation of the Plank mission. The Astronomical Observatory of Trieste and the Cineca center will partecipate in this project.
